Smt. Shree Singh
Ms. Shree Singh, originally from Delhi, spent her early years there before living for a time in Prayagraj, the ancestral home of her family. With a professional background in Information Technology, she worked for over a decade in the United States before answering a quiet yet persistent call that had stirred in her since childhood, a call from the mountains.
That call led her to Uttarkashi in the Garhwal Himalayas, and what began as a visit became a permanent shift. She chose to remain, a leap of faith that meant letting go of a settled urban life in exchange for the unknown, but deeply meaningful. In Uttarkashi, she joined the Azim Premji Foundation, a prominent organization working to strengthen India’s public education system. Over six years, her work brought her face-to-face with the realities of life in the remote mountain regions, especially in the areas of education and healthcare, issues that are often invisible, rarely understood, and too frequently left unaddressed.
In recent years, Ms. Shree Singh has been actively involved with a non-profit organization that she helped establish. Focused on health and education, the organization works exclusively in the remote areas of the Garhwal Himalayas, continuing her commitment to creating sustainable impact in undeserved communities.
