Photograph, Content & Video Release Agreement
All classes are recorded and shared with all registered students and presenters. Sessions or segments may be shared with the public for educational or promotion purposes. I hereby release any and all claims against any person or organization utilizing this material for educational purposes.”
Satsangam Community Agreements
As we come together to learn and grow as individuals and in this sangha, these are suggested guidelines, meant to cultivate and support unity, open-mindedness and a sattvic learning environment for all. By registering for this course, I agree to abide by these agreements.
Privacy
We understand these courses are open to all, and are and will be used for educational purposes. Some sessions may be repurposed into other courses. We understand using our cameras is welcome and appreciated, as it enlivens the community in a sweet way. If we are uncomfortable with our voice or name being shown, we will each be responsible to turn off our videos or hide our names on our zoom account display.
Welcome, respect & learn from each other’s experience and views
Each of us has a different perspective on Reality and different experiences. There are many ways to look at a thing. If we can expand to hear all these perspectives without judgment, but with discernment, they may all be able to serve for growth. Everyone has their own background, belief system and view on various concepts. 20th century saint Kirpal Singh wrote, “Each one of us is unique in his own way. There is a divine purpose behind the life of everyone who comes into the world; no one has been created for nothing. We have something to learn from everyone. This is the mystery of humility.” We attempt to enter into community in this spirit of respect and curiosity in order to create a brave learning environment, and allow our own minds and hearts to soften and expand. We agree to respectfully take what supports our learning and leave the rest.
We understand the views of the presenters or participants do not necessarily represent the view of satsangam LLC founders or principles.
Share experiences, not advice
We use “I” statements in sharing our own experiences and perspectives instead of declarative statements or generalizations about the way things are or should be, or what others do or think, or should do or think.
Be responsible for our own feelings and words
When we get triggered, we can ask questions of others and ourselves, considering where we can connect and how we can expand. We can have conversations with friends, therapists or confidants outside of sessions when needed. We can breathe and use whatever mental or emotional health tools available to us to return to mental or emotional equilibrium.
Expect not to have all questions answered
This is an exploration.
Religious and philosophical freedom
We do not need to adhere to any particular religion or philosophical perspective in order to benefit from and find common ground with the material discussed.
Strive to do no harm
We are aware that thoughts, words and actions can all cause harm and try to use these carefully.
Personal consultation questions
This is not a space for personal consultations or to have personal physical, mental, emotional or spiritual health issues addressed directly. These are better addressed within the context of consultations with personal practitioners.
Respect time for other voices
We will try to be aware of how much space we take up in the classroom. This includes being conscious of how often our voice is heard in relation to other participants, keeping questions and comments focused on the topic, and taking time to process and listen before speaking.
Active listening
Seek first to understand and then to be understood (an idea we appreciate from the book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”)
Filming & recording
We ask that no filming, video or audio recording take place during our sessions outside of the recording done by Satsangam LLC.
